The effect of this herb is double that of Hippocampus Hai Ma. It is much bigger than Hai Ma with a longer body and a straight tail which does not curve. Hai Ma which is Warm and Sweet, fortifies the Kidneys, warms Yang, treats impotence, reduces fixed abdominal masses, treats swollen, deep-set toxic sores, difficult labor and pain from Qi and Blood Stasis.

别名 杨枝鱼、钱串子、刁海龙、拟海龙、尖海龙
为海龙科动物刁海龙、拟海龙、尖海龙等多种海龙的全体或除去皮膜及内脏的全体，
海龙含多种胱氨酸、蛋白质、脂肪酸、甾体及多种无机元素。

海龙性状
【性味】 味甘，性温
【归经】 归肝、肾经
体狭长侧扁，表面黄白色或灰褐色。头部前方具一侧扁的管状长吻，口小，无牙，两眼圆而深陷，头与体轴略呈钝角；躯干部五棱形；尾部前方冰棱形，后方渐细呈四棱形，尾端卷曲；背棱两侧各有一列灰黑色斑点状色带，腹部中央棱特别突出。全体被以具花纹的骨环及细横纹，各骨环内有突起粒状棘。胸鳍宽短，背鳍较长，有的不明显，无尾鳍。骨质坚硬。气微腥，味微咸。
